FG Plans New Salary Template for Steel Workers

The Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development said that a new salary template is being developed to take care of the interests of the personnel operating the steel sector.The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Sheik Goni, who disclosed this at the weekend while addressing staff of the National Steel Raw Materials Exploration Agency (NSRMEA) in Kaduna, said the minister has approved the payment of outstanding salary arrears and allowance due go the staff of Ajaokuta steel company and NIOMCO.
The Minister has also given directives for the development of a new salary template for workers in the steel industry.“The minister has directed the Director of Finance and the representatives of the Ajaokuta steel and National Iron Ore Mining Company (NIOMCO) workers to develop a template for salaries of the personnel of the steel industry”.Goni also said government has approved the payment of arrears of salaries and allowances of workers of the Ajaokuta Steel Company and NIOMCO.
