Security risk detected in Internet Explorer software

Internet users are being warned about a potential security risk surrounding the use of Microsoft's Internet Explorer software.

The flaw could allow outside users to take control of a person's computer and steal their passwords.

Microsoft says it is working on an emergency patch to fix the problem and is advising users to switch to a rival browser until the security risk is removed.
