SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--McAfee, Inc. (NYSE:MFE - News) today announced that Office Depot (NYSE:ODP - News), a leading global provider of office products and services, will provide McAfee Internet security solutions to customers through the Company’s Tech Depot Services program. Customers who purchase a new PC from Office Depot will now receive McAfee security software installed automatically with the purchase of a Protection and Performance service package. McAfee’s products are currently sold in Office Depot stores nationwide.The new agreement extends even greater convenience and peace of mind to Office Depot customers, who can now have either McAfee® Internet Security Suite software or McAfee® VirusScan® Plus software installed before they stTech Depot Services will offer two Protection and Performance packages to customers with the McAfee software preinstalled: “Protection and Performance” and “Premium Protection and Performance.” The Protection and Performance service from Office Depot’s Tech Depot Services installs, updates and configures a full version of McAfee® VirusScan® Plus security software for a one year subscription for $99.99. Additionally, the PC’s settings are optimized to speed up startup and overall processing times, and all unnecessary software that slows down performance and takes up hard drive and memory space is removed.
