ULI panel discusses climate impact on real estate

The Urban Land Institute is holding a panel on climate change, land use and energy on March 25 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center ballroom from 3 to 6 p.m.It will feature Ed McMahon, senior resident fellow for sustainable development with ULI. He leads the organization’s worldwide efforts to conduct research and educational activities related to environmentally sensitive development policies and practices.
His presentation will include a national overview of how climate, land use and energy issues are affecting the real estate industry, now and in the future.Local panelists include Albuquerque City Councilor Isaac Benton, a licensed general contractor and architect accredited in LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards.Doug Peterson with Peterson Properties LLC is also serving on the panel. He is the chairman of the Albuquerque Planning Commission and is the state transportation commissioner for the greater Albuquerque metropolitan region.
