Pharmaceutical Industry NewsCumberland Pharmaceuticals adds to boardLocal pharmaceutical company Cumberland Pharmaceuticals Inc. elected three new members to its board of directors at its annual meeting: Gordon Bernard, Jonathan Griggs and James Jones.Bernard is assistant vice chancellor for research at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and medical director of Vanderbilt's institutional review board. Since 1999, he has served as Cumberland’s medical director.Griggs, who has been a member of Cumberland's pharmaceutical advisory board since 1999, has more than 40 years of pharmaceutical industry experience. Since 1992, he’s led management and human resources consulting firm Griggs & Associates.Also new to the board is James Jones, the former managing partner of Middle Tennessee operations for accounting firm KPMG. Jones currently sits on the board of Aegis Sciences Corp.Re-elected to the board were Cumberland CEO A.J. Kazimi and Chief Commercial Officer Martin Cearnal. Other directors include Thomas R. Lawrence, Robert G. Edwards and Dr. Lawrence W. Greer.
