Lubos Paper Magnet simplifies recycling process
Wednesday, 17, March 2010
The U.S. paper industry has set a goal of recovering 60 percent of paper used in 2012, and machines such as Lubo USA's Paper Magnet are expected to play a major role in the recycling process.Lubo USA, which has its offices at 78 Halloween Blvd. in Stamford, has sold four Paper Magnets, ranging in cost from $100,000 to $200,000, to recycling operations in Houston, Philadelphia, Denver and Surprise, Ariz. The company is the North American distributor for Netherlands-based Bollegraaf Recycling Machinery.
The machine was developed as another step in addressing the challenges of separating recyclables, particularly as more municipalities embrace single-stream recycling, according to Pieter van Dijk, president of Van Dijk Baler and Lubo USA, who said the Paper Magnet can be used in many systems, including dual- and single-stream material recovery facilities, as well as in construction, demolition, commercial and industrial systems.
