Country music industry honors stars at show

Oklahomans dominated Sunday night’s Academy of Country Music Awards, with Carrie Underwood earning an historic entertainer of the year trophy, Miranda Lambert winning three awards and Brooks & Dunn receiving their last ACM as a duo.Underwood, of Checotah, won her second straight entertainer of the year prize, becoming the first woman to earn the academy’s top award twice."Thank you, country music. Thank you fans, thank you fans,” Underwood exclaimed, jumping in celebratory circles as she accepted the fan-voted award.The 2005 "American Idol” winner also officially joined the elite group of ACM Triple Crown honorees, for winning the top new female vocalist, top female vocalist and entertainer prizes.Lambert, a Texas native who now lives in Tishomingo, took home three awards: this year’s top female vocalist trophy, along with album of the year award for "Revolution” and video of the year for "White Liar.”
