Players in the tourism industry have backed investors who are planning to put up a seven-star hotel in Nairobi. The Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers and Caterers (KAHC) Coast branch chairman Titus Kangangi said the top of the range hotel would improve the country’s image in tourist source markets.Mr Kangangi added that the hospitality facility would attract high quality holidaymakers including wealthy businessmen and renowned world celebrities.
The KAHC official said the seven star hotel would break the perception that Kenya tourist destination depended on mass tourism rather than quality tourists.“It is welcome news that some investors are planning to put up a seven star hotel. Such facilities will raise the profile of our destination overseas,” Mr Kangangi said.He added: “The hotel will come handy in providing higher standards for well-off tourists such as global top businessmen and celebrities in music and sports fraternities.”
