Shuler should vote no again on health care
Monday, 15, March 2010
Heath Shuler stands by his first “no” vote on this so-called health care bill. The underhanded and unethical games the Democratic leadership is playing to circumvent not only their own Congressional rules, but the Constitution itself should send any politician worth a salt lick running for the hills. This is bad law. The majority of Americans do not want the government taking over the healthcare industry this way.
All you have to do is look at the bankrupt failures of Medicare and Medicaid to know that a system many times bigger will be a money-draining travesty — one that will not improve healthcare for anyone. Vote no on this bill, Rep. Shuler, then regroup and start over with some common-sense bipartisan solutions for some meaningful reforms without throwing out the baby with the bathwater.
