Zenza Life Sciences, a US direct-sales firm, has established itself in the 45-billion-baht direct selling market in Thailand as a new alternative.President Anthony Diaz said the company was expanding its business to Thailand as the first country in Southeast Asia. The Thai market has huge potential because the country has 67 million people and is an open market.Zenza Life is a US firm but started its business first in Japan since November 2003.
"We chose to start our business in the toughest market as the first country. We knew that if we could become successful in Japan, where the Ministry of Health is the toughest, we can enter other markets easily," he said. After its business was proved successful in Japan and the US, it began expanding to Southeast Asia. For Thailand, Mr Diaz said he was contacted by Thai businessmen to import its Nectura products to be sold in Thailand through e-commerce channels. The market response was better than expectations with sales of 10 million baht per month, so the company decided to set up its own operation.
